With the fifth full-length record, Unreqvited takes the listener on a soulful symphonic journey into the heart of winter.
“Empathica” is a cinematic experience of melancholy and majesty, as beautifully woven layers of delicate pianos and strings accompany triumphant post-rock refrains. Ethereal clean vocal melodies soar above snow-capped mountaintops as the anguished screams howl from the deep icy valleys below.
On “Empathica” Unreqvited continues to stretch genre-defining boundaries, delivering a picturesque melding of Atmospheric Black Metal and Symphonic Rock for fans of both genres.
The first press of the CD comes as Collector’s Edition in Digipack, limited to 1000 copies.
The limited LP comes on coloured vinyl, incl. download.

This is uplifting and gazey instrublack with some distant melodic chanted vox. The dynamic soundscapes are fantastically lush, with gorgeous harmonies and infectious, rich melodies. Lose yourself in them, but don't forget that Blut Aus Nord is still a black metal band somewhere deep in there. Dan Curhan
The San Francisco quartet’s latest effort takes their post-metal to atmospheric new heights, with a resultant sound bordering on the transdimensional. Bandcamp Album of the Day Sep 20, 2018
If “atmospheric black metal” implies majestic comedowns and dramatic dynamics, this powerhouse instead constitutes anti-atmospheric black metal. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 23, 2021
